Transformation and Music - Composer Laura Bowler encounters the work for the first time (Oct 2019)
This is the first in a series of short blogposts about the fantastic process that came about as the result of a ‘Developing Your Creative Practice’ Arts Council grant last year. Part of the project was to discover to what extent our practice can be applied to music, and, with any luck, to start a new relationship for artistic collaboration. The idea was that a composer would personally engage with the unique process of Transformation, drawing on the hawks, their handlers and that environment and on the actors.
We worked with composer Laura Bowler, and there was no pressure to work towards product or performance. Here she talks about the experience after a day observing hawks with the actors and then attending some rehearsal workshops.
