Taming the wild

In the last R&D sessions held over the weekend of 3rd-5th November, the actors explored activities to do with preparation- of leather, of food -as both things of necessity and also rituals of preparation.

Alongside this their work in hawk versus the 'tamer' continued.

The thing about love is that if it is just meeting your own needs then it isn't love at all.

"She's gone; I am abused, and my relief

Must be to loathe her. O curse of marriage,

That we can call these delicate creatures ours,

And not their appetites!"

Othello Act III:iii.267

If you tame the wild, do you take from it and therefore diminish what drew you to it in at the start?

"And in conclusion, she shall watch all night:

And if she chance to nod, I'll rail and brawl,

And with the clamour keep her still awake."

Taming of the Shrew Act IV:i.208
